The Stewards noted that TING TING (USA), placed third, had interfered with KYLE OF BUTE, placed fourth, in the back straight, but after viewing a video recording of the incident, they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved TING TING (USA)’s placing. They therefore took no further action.
The Stewards noted that the winner, KING OF EDEN (IRE), had interfered with TYFOS, placed second, inside the final furlong but after viewing a video recording of the incident, they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved KING OF EDEN (IRE)’s placing. They therefore took no further action.
The Stewards noted that CITY GROUND (USA), placed third, had interfered with OFFICIAL STYLE, placed second, inside the final furlong but after viewing a video recording of the incident, they were satisfied that it was caused by accident. They therefore took no further action. ON HER WAY, trained by H R A Cecil, was declared to wear an eye cover in error. Permission was given for eye shields/blinkers to be substituted. A fine of £140 was imposed on the trainer under Schedule (B)4 5.6.
The Stewards called before them Jack Dean (3), the rider of MY LORD, the winner, and enquired into his use of the whip in the last furlong and a half. Having heard his evidence and viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards found the rider in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. They suspended him for 1 day as follows: Thursday, 15th July.
The Stewards noted that the winner, GREEK SECRET, had interfered with MANSII, placed third, two furlongs out, but after viewing a video recording of the incident, they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved GREEK SECRET’s placing. They therefore took no further action.
The Stewards considered the running of the winner SEATTLE SPEIGHT (USA), ridden by Harry Bentley (7) and trained by W J Knight, which had never previously been placed. They interviewed the trainer’s representative who stated that the filly benefited from wearing a visor for the first time today. They forwarded her comments to the British Horseracing Authority, so that the performance of SEATTLE SPEIGHT (USA) in her earlier races could be reviewed.
The Stewards considered the running of the winner MISTOFFELEES, ridden by Talib Hussain (5) and trained by L M Cumani, which had never previously been placed. They interviewed the trainer’s representative who stated that the colt had benefited from having been dropped in and ridden more patiently today as at its previous run it had run very free and wide into the bend. They forwarded her comments to the British Horseracing Authority, so that the performance of MISTOFFELEES in his earlier races could be reviewed.

The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference inside the final furlong. They found that ABRAHAM LINCOLN (IRE), ridden by JACK MITCHELL, unplaced, had interfered with ROCKER, ridden by SHANE KELLY, also unplaced. They found MITCHELL in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of Careless Riding in that he manoeuvred left causing interference to SHANE KELLY. They suspended him for three days as follows: Thursday 15th, Friday 16th and Saturday 17th July 2010.
The Stewards held an enquiry into the running and riding of BELLE DES AIRS (IRE), ridden by JACK MITCHELL and trained by R M BECKETT, which finished second. The Stewards asked MITCHELL why his mount was slow to come out of the stalls. MITCHELL stated that the blind had become snagged on the halter which was attached to the bridle. Having heard his evidence and viewed a video recording of the race, the Stewards noted his explanations.
The Stewards held an enquiry into the unruly behaviour of GRAND VISTA, trained by G L MOORE, who was very reluctant to leave the starting stalls and failed to jump off with the rest of the field. The trainer’s representative, TERRY SARGENT, stated that the horse will not run for Mr Moore’s stable again. This being the second occasion within the previous 12 months that GRAND VISTA had been reported for unruly behaviour, having refused to jump off with the field at Lingfield on 22nd January 2010, the Stewards informed the trainer’s representative that if GRAND VISTA were reported for a third time within the same time period, the matter would be reported to the British Horseracing Authority.

The Stewards called before them Gemma Gracey-Davison, the rider of What’s Up Doc (IRE), unplaced, and enquired into her use of the whip from three furlongs out. Having heard her evidence and viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards found the rider in breach of Schedule (B) 6 Part 2, in that she had used her whip with excessive frequency. They suspended her for 2 days as follows:- Thursday 15th and Friday 16th July.
Another Character (USA), trained by M.D.I. Usher, was declared to run, but on inspection the record of vaccinations in the passport was found not to comply with the requirements of the Rules of Racing. The Stewards fined the trainer £140.
On a report from the Starter that Fluter Phil, trained by R. Ingram was unruly in the starting stalls and was withdrawn, the trainer’s attention was drawn to the restriction incurred under Rule (B)44 and he was informed that Fluter Phil could not run until the day after it had passed a stalls test.

The Stewards called before them Ted Durcan, the rider of Valid Reason, placed second, and enquired into his use of the whip from inside the final furlong. Having heard his evidence and viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards found the rider in breach of Schedule (B) 6 Part 2, in that he had used his whip without giving his horse time to respond. They cautioned him as to the future use of his whip.

The Stewards held any enquiry under Rule B29.3 into why TEN TO THE DOZEN, ridden by Amy Ryan, took the incorrect route to the start. Having heard evidence from the rider, H. Barclay the Starter and Mr D.W. Thompson the trainer, they were satisfied that it was due to circumstances beyond the rider’s control and took no further action. The Stewards called before them Michael O’Connell, the rider of NUIT SOMBRE (IRE), the winner, and enquired into his use of the whip in the final one and a half furlongs. Having heard his evidence and viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards found the rider in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. They suspended him for 1 day as follows: Thursday, 15th July.
The Stewards called before them Billy Cray, the rider of ABBONDANZA (IRE), placed third, and enquired into his use of the whip in the final two furlongs. Having heard his evidence and viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards found the rider in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. They cautioned him as to the future use of his whip.
The Stewards noted that JOHNNY HANCOCKS (IRE), placed fourth, had interfered with SKY BOOSTER, who in turn interfered with PRESS RELEASE, who in turn interfered with PUDDLE DUCK, all unplaced, leaving the stalls, but after viewing a video recording of the incident they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved JOHNNY HANCOCK (IRE’s) placing. They therefore took no further action.
The Stewards noted that BRIARY MAC and PHILOSOPHERS STONE (FR), both unplaced, had interfered with PEPPER LANE, placed second, and SUNNANDAEG, placed fourth, shortly after the start, but after viewing a video recording of the incident they were satisfied that it was caused by accident. They therefore took no further action.
The Stewards noted that CROSS KEY (IRE), placed third, had interfered with KATHLATINO, placed fourth, approaching the one and a half furlongs, but after viewing a video recording of the incident they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved CROSS KEY (IRE’s) placing. They therefore took no further action.
On a report from the Starter that PRINCE JAMES trained by M.W. Easterby was unruly in the stalls and withdrawn, the trainer’s attention was drawn to the restriction incurred under Rule (B)44 and informed that PRINCE JAMES could not run until the day after it had passed a stalls test.

BLUE SHIRT LILY, trained by R K WATSON, was declared to run but on inspection the record of vaccinations in the passport was found to have been altered in contravention of Rule (E)19.5. The Stewards fined the trainer £80.
The Stewards called before them SAM TWISTON-DAVIES, the rider of HERMOSO (IRE) and asked him to explain why he appeared to ride a finish a circuit too soon. Having heard his evidence and reviewed a video recording of the race, the Stewards found SAM TWISTON-DAVIES to be in breach of Rule (B)59.3.2.2 in that he mistook the race distance and rode a finish a circuit too early. They suspended SAM TWISTON-DAVIES for 12 days as follows: 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 July.
The Clerk of the Scales reported that JASON MAGUIRE, the rider of LONG WAIT (IRE), weighed in 2lbs more than the weight at which he weighed out. The Stewards interviewed the rider and GORDON ELLIOT, the trainer, and, not being satisfied with JASON MAGUIRE’S explanation, they suspended him for 3 days under Rule (B)67.7 as follows: 15th 17th and 18th July.
The Stewards held an enquiry under Rule (B)11.6 into possible interference at the last hurdle. They found that the winner GRAND ART (IRE), ridden by DEAN COLEMAN, had interfered with CAN’T REMEMBER, ridden by OLIVER DAYMAN, placed second. They considered that the interference was accidental but had improved GRAND ART’S placing. They placed CAN’T REMEMBER first and GRAND ART (IRE) second.
The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, NATIVE CORAL (IRE) ridden by DOUGIE COSTELLO and trained by N G RICHARDS compared with its previous run at Perth on 13th May where it finished unplaced beaten approximately forty nine lengths but having received a report that the trainer was unable to offer any explanation and in the absence of any other relevant information, they decided not to hold an enquiry. The Stewards ordered NATIVE CORAL (IRE) to be routine tested.
The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference on the first bend. They found that CAN’T REMEMBER, ridden by OLIVER DAYMAN, the winner, had interfered with WITNESS RUN (IRE), ridden by CAMPBELL GILLIES, unplaced. They considered that the interference was accidental under Rule (B)55 and took no further action.
The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference on the paddock bend on the final circuit. They found that CAN’T REMEMBER, ridden by OLIVER DAYMAN, the winner, had interfered with WITNESS RUN (IRE), ridden by CAMPBELL GILLIES, unplaced. They considered that the interference was accidental under Rule (B)55 and took no further action.
The Stewards called before them ALEXANDER VOY, the rider of CORKY DANCER, placed second and enquired into his use of the whip in the home straight. Having heard his evidence and viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards found the rider in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. They suspended him for one day as follows: Thursday, 15th July.
