    The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference inside the final furlong. They found that both the winner, TRIPLE DREAM, ridden by Liam Keniry, and COLORUS (IRE), ridden by Adam Beschizza, placed second, had interfered with VOLITO, ridden by Richard Kingscote, placed third. They considered that the interference was accidental under Rule (B)55 and took no further action.

    The Stewards noted that BATTLE HONOUR, placed second, had interfered with NORVILLE (IRE), unplaced, just inside the four furlong marker, but after viewing a video recording of the incident they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved BATTLE HONOUR’s placing. They therefore took no further action.

    The Stewards also noted that COOKIE CRUMBLES (IRE), placed fourth, had interfered with NORVILLE (IRE), who had then interfered with EASTERN MAGIC, who in turn interfered with HEDONIST, all unplaced, approximately two and a half furlongs out, but after viewing a video recording of the incident they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved COOKIE CRUMBLES (IRE)’s placing. They therefore took no further action.

  • Stratford, 29 July 2010

    LORDS BRIDGE, trained by Tim Vaughan, was declared to run but on inspection the record of vaccinations in the passport was found not to comply with the requirements of the Rules of Racing. The Stewards noted that the last examination of the vaccination record had also identified an error, but it had not been corrected. In respect of the breach of Rule (E)18, the Stewards fined the trainer £650.

    The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference at the fourth-last hurdle in the back straight. They found that interference had taken place between FORCRYINGOUTLOUD (IRE), ridden by Richie McLernon, placed second, HI WYCOMBE (IRE), ridden by Rodi Greene, and OSCAR CHARLIE (IRE), ridden by Daryl Jacob, both unplaced. They considered that the interference was accidental under Rule (B)55 and took no further action.

    The Stewards enquired into circumstances surrounding the early start of this race, which went off at 14.19.13. They interviewed the Starter and, having heard his explanation, ordered a report to be sent to the British Horseracing Authority.

    The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference inside the final furlong. They found that Astrophysical Jet, ridden by Graham Gibbons, placed third, had interfered with Starfish Bay (USA), ridden by Frankie Dettori, who in turn interfered with Amour Propre, ridden by Dane O’Neill, both unplaced. They found Gibbons in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he allowed his horse to drift left handed.
    As Gibbons had already been suspended for a total of 21 days for interference during the previous 6 months, they referred the matter of his riding to the British Horseracing Authority.

    The Stewards enquired into the fall of Liam Jones, the rider of Triple Aspect (IRE), half a furlong out. Having viewed the video recording they were satisfied that the fall was caused by the saddle slipping. Being satisfied that no other horse or jockey was involved, they took no further action.

    The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference approaching the final two furlongs. They found that Wajir (FR), ridden by Frankie Dettori, placed fifth, had interfered with Purple Moon (IRE), ridden by Kieren Fallon, placed third, who in turn interfered with Free Agent, ridden by Richard Hughes, placed fourth. They found Dettori in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he allowed his horse to drift right handed. They cautioned Dettori as to his future conduct in races.

    The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference inside the three furlong marker. They found that Flame of Gibraltar (IRE), ridden by Tom Queally, unplaced, had interfered with Ships Biscuit, ridden by Ryan Moore, placed sixth. They found Queally in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he manoeuvred left handed. They suspended him for 1 days as follows:- Thursday 12th August.

    The Stewards noted that Polly’s Mark (IRE), placed second, had interfered with Just Lille (IRE), unplaced, who in turn interfered with Flying Cloud (IRE), placed fifth, who in turn interfered with Cassique Lady (IRE), unplaced, 2 ½ furlongs out, but after viewing a video recording of the incident, they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved Polly’s Mark (IRE)’s placing. They therefore took no further action.

    The Stewards called before them Seb Sanders, the rider of Motrice, placed third, and enquired into his use of the whip inside the final two furlongs. Having heard his evidence and viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards found the rider in breach of Schedule (B) 6 Part 2, in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. They cautioned him as to the future use of his whip.

    The Stewards called before them Richard Hughes, the rider of Elnawin, which was withdrawn at the start on veterinary advice, and asked him to explain why he rode the colt back. Having heard his evidence, and having heard a report from the veterinary surgeon at the start, that he had given Hughes permission to ride Elnawin back, they found Hughes not in breach of Schedule B.46 and took no further action.

    The Stewards noted that Dubawi Gulf, placed second, had interfered with Opera Dancer, placed fourth, inside the final furlong, but after viewing a video recording of the incident, they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved Dubawi Gulf’s placing. They therefore took no further action.

  • Epsom, 29 July 2010

    The Stewards called before them SIMON PEARCE, the rider of QUINCE (IRE), unplaced, and enquired into his use of the whip from inside the final furlong. Having heard his evidence and viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards found PEARCE in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip when out of contention. They suspended him for two days as follows: Thursday 12th and Friday 13th August 2010.

    The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference on the run to the line. They found that the winner SCREENPRINT, ridden by HAYLEY TURNER, had interfered with BOOK KEEPER, ridden by AHMED AJTEBI, placed third. They found TURNER in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of Careless Riding in that she allowed her mount to drift towards the rail. They cautioned her as to her future conduct in races.

    The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference inside the final furlong. They found that LICENCE TO TILL (USA), ridden by JOE FANNING, placed second, had interfered with MISHRIF (USA), ridden by RICHARD HUGHES, placed fourth. They considered that the interference was accidental under Rule (B)55 and took no further action.

    ARGENTINE (IRE) trained by J A McShane, was declared to run in a hood in error. Permission was given for blinkers to be substituted. A fine of £140 was imposed on the trainer under Schedule (B)4 5.6.

    The Stewards held an enquiry to ascertain the reasons why the stalls were set up in the wrong position prior to the first race. They interviewed Mr S Yarborough, the stalls team leader, Mrs H Graham, Clerk of the Course, Mr H Barclay and Mr S Turner, the Starters. Having heard their evidence they noted their explanations and forwarded a report to the British Horseracing Authority.

    The Stewards noted that RIDLEY DIDLEY (IRE), unplaced, had interfered with DISTANT SUN (USA), placed third, who in turn interfered with SILVANUS (IRE), unplaced inside the final furlong but after viewing a video recording of the incident, they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved RIDLEY DIDLEY (IRE)’s placing. They therefore took no further action.

    The Stewards noted that RED SKIPPER (IRE), trained by N Wilson and ridden by T Hamilton, and FINSBURY, trained by Miss L A Perratt and ridden by P Makin, failed to parade. However, being satisfied that their riders made every effort to do so they took no further action.

    The Stewards noted that there was interference between ELIJAH PEPPER (USA) and OCEAN ROSIE (IRE), both unplaced, on the bend turning into the straight but after viewing a video recording of the incident, they were satisfied that it did not involve a riding offence. They therefore took no further action.

    The Stewards noted that SANDWITH, placed fourth and ARRIVA LA ARRIVA, placed third, had interfered with GRACE AND VIRTUE (IRE), unplaced, approaching the final three furlongs but after viewing a video recording of the incident, they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved SANDWITH and ARRIVA LA ARRIVA’s placing. They therefore took no further action.

    The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner RIO’S GIRL, ridden by Paul Quinn and trained by R M Whittaker which had never previously been placed. They interviewed the trainer’s representative, who stated that RIO’S GIRL had been suited by a drop back to 5 furlongs in a lower grade race. They forwarded his comments to the British Horseracing Authority, so that the performance of RIO’S GIRL in her earlier races could be reviewed.

    The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference inside the final furlong. They found that the winner RIO’S GIRL, ridden by Paul Quinn, had interfered with SANDWITH, ridden by L Newman, placed fourth. They found Paul Quinn in breach of rule (B) 54.1 and guilty of Careless Riding in that he allowed his mount to drift right without correction. They cautioned Paul Quinn as to his future conduct in races.
