Second King's Stand for Newsells-bound Equiano
Equiano was the impressive winner of the Gr.1 King’s Stand Stakes, recovering quickly after a stumble from the stalls before making most of the running and scoring by a length and a half. The French-bred son of Acclamation, who retires to Newsells Park Stud next year, where he will stand alongside the young sire Mount Nelson, won the race in 2008 when trained in Spain by Mauricio Delcher Sanchez before his transfer to Barry Hills.
Out of the Ela-Mana-Mou mare Entente Cordiale, he comes from the family of the Gr.2 Firenze Handicap winner Aladancer (Northern Dancer).
Equiano, who has showed renewed vigour this season, is likely to run next in the Gr.1 July Cup.
