What is the 'Racing for Change' Order of Merit?
Now organised by Racing Enterprises Limited, the annual contest covers 70 races between October and the finale to the National Hunt season at Sandown Park Racecourse on Saturday 24 April in 2010.
Races are won and lost and the points are awarded accordingly,
creating a truly prestigious Championship. The combined team,
made up of the horse, jockey, trainer stable staff and owner,
that consistently maintains its form in such a top class field
over the season, will be crowned champions. It’s that
simple and ultimately, that tough.
How does the Points System work?
The way the competition is scored has been designed
to reflect the relevant grade of each race and the horse’s
finishing position, therefore rewarding both excellence and
participation.
| Finishing position | Grade 1 races | Grade 2 races | Grade 3 races | | 1st | 20 | 15 | 10 | | 2nd | 16 | 12 | 8 | | 3rd | 12 | 10 | 6 | | 4th | 10 | 8 | 5 |
